AISL-154 Application Support Engineer / Java Developer

About the role:

As an Onsite Application Support Engineer, you will take full ownership of application support at our client’s premises in Strasbourg. This is a role that requires flexibility, dedication, and a knack for finding solutions to incidents that arise in a fast-paced, 24/7 service environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive end-to-end support for customer applications.
  • Analyze and resolve incidents, providing permanent solutions or workarounds to restore service operations.
  • Create problem reports and change requests linked to incidents for improved system functionality.
  • Collaborate with the customer on incident reviews and ensure continuous Knowledge Management (KM) for ongoing improvement.
  • Be ready to participate in on-call/standby duties when required.

Your technical toolkit:

  • Java expertise for development and application support.
  • Proficiency with Spring Boot for microservices architecture.
  • Experience with Distributed Systems and gRPC for communication across services.
  • Strong foundation in the Apache Suite and Remote Procedure Call (RPC) mechanisms.

Non-technical skills we value:

  • Strong understanding of the ITIL framework.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written).
  • Ability to quickly absorb new information and adapt to changing environments.
  • Excellent organizational skills to coordinate tasks and manage workloads efficiently.
  • Ability to remain calm and perform effectively under pressure, focusing on customer satisfaction and SLA commitments.
  • Collaborative team player with impeccable social etiquette.

Requirements:

  • EU citizenship is a must.
  • Availability for Security Clearance.
  • This role is fully onsite in Strasbourg—remote work is not an option.
