We are looking for a Senior System Administrator with in-depth expertise in Kubernetes, Cloud infrastructures, and system security to join a dynamic and high-performing team in Brussels. This key role involves managing, optimizing, and securing critical system infrastructures, covering Linux, Windows environments, as well as virtualized and containerized applications. You will also be responsible for implementing authentication solutions and maintaining system stability and performance in a high-availability environment.

As a Senior System Administrator, you will play a central role in implementing hybrid infrastructure solutions (Cloud/On-prem) and managing complex migration, performance evaluation, and quality projects.

Main Responsibilities:

  • System Hardening: Secure systems (Windows, Linux) and associated databases/applications.
  • Monitoring & Logging: Implement distributed and centralized monitoring solutions using tools such as syslog, syslog-ng, rsyslog, Nagios, ELK, EyesOfNetworks.
  • Virtualization & Containerization: Implement containerized application solutions using Docker, Kubernetes, VMware, Xen, KVM, Hyper-V, Linux Containers.
  • Cloud/On-prem Architectures: Design hybrid Cloud/On-prem architectures using technologies such as SDN (Software-Defined Network), SDS (Software-Defined Storage), and Kubernetes.
  • Authentication Solutions: Implement authentication solutions based on PKI (OpenSSL, Microsoft CA) and strong authentication (RSA SecurID, Gemplus, Aladin Token).
  • Capacity Planning: Analyze future capacity needs based on usage history and forecasts.
  • Technical Specification Writing: Draft detailed technical specifications for infrastructure projects.
  • Evaluation of Technical Proposals: Assist in evaluating the technical quality of proposals.
  • Migration Planning and Supervision: Plan and oversee system migrations, ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform inspections to ensure the quality of deployments.
  • Performance Evaluation: Evaluate and recommend improvements to optimize the performance of solutions.
  • Database Implementation & Customization: Manage the implementation, customization, and configuration of databases.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Red Hat Certified System Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
  • ITIL Certification
  • Microsoft Certification (Implementation and Maintenance of Windows)
  • Certified Lotus Professional (if applicable)
  • Proven expertise in Linux and Windows system administration.
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes, Docker, and Cloud technologies.
  • Experience in system hardening, performance optimization, and infrastructure security.
  • Solid knowledge of authentication solutions (PKI, RSA SecurID, etc.) and virtualization technologies.
  • Experience with Software-Defined Networks (SDN), Software-Defined Storage (SDS), and Cloud orchestration.
  • Proficiency with monitoring tools such as Nagios, syslog-ng, ELK, and others.
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
  • Fluency in Dutch or French (professional level required).
