AISL-144 Service Owner OpenStack

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Product/Service Owner to lead the development and management of a squad handling multiple technologies, both Open Source and licensed.

As part of our client's dynamic IT services team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery and continuous improvement of these services, aligning them with strategic objectives.


Squad Vision and Strategy:

  • Develop a clear and compelling vision for the OpenStack Services, aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Formulate and execute a strategic roadmap outlining the evolution of the services, including their implementation on Public Cloud and Private Cloud technologies.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including Technical Architects, Developers, Scrum Masters, and Business Owners, to understand their needs and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Establish strong relationships with external stakeholders to ensure the services meet their requirements.

Product Development and Management:

  • Oversee the end-to-end service development lifecycle, from ideation to implementation and maintenance.
  • Work closely with development teams to prioritize features, enhancements, and bug fixes based on business value and impact.
  • Ensure that up-to-date information is always available to the Operations team to effectively respond to common incidents.

User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) Design:

  • In cooperation with the Architects, define UX/UI layouts to ensure the services provide an intuitive and user-friendly experience for end-users.
  • Conduct end-to-end testing and gather feedback to refine and enhance the UX/UI and related processes.

Release Planning and Deployment:

  • Develop and maintain a release schedule, coordinating with Development and Operations teams to ensure smooth and timely releases.
  • Implement effective communication strategies to inform users about upcoming releases and changes.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for the services and regularly monitor and report on their performance.
  • Implement optimization strategies to enhance the services' efficiency, scalability, and reliability.

Security and Compliance:

  • Collaborate with security experts to ensure the services adhere to industry best practices and comply with relevant regulations.
  • Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard sensitive data and ensure a secure development environment.


  • Oversee and approve documentation prepared by the Architects, including user guides, API documentation, and best practices.


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or Service Owner in a similar context.
  • Strong understanding of software development processes and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with public administration processes and requirements is a plus.

  • EU citizenship.

Although open to technologies used by our customers, ABAKUS IT-SOLUTIONS seeks mainly but not only consultants mastering: Windows and Linux Servers, networks, developments (JAVA, SAP, .NET,…) as well as highly specialized experts for example in cybersecurity or in Content Management System (CMS) (SharePoint, Drupal, WebLogic…).

A very good command of English is essential, the capacity to speak French, German or Dutch is an asset.
